My hometown is Bratislava, Slovakia. Bratislava is the capital of a small country in the middle of Europe with rich history and customs. People there are friendly and caring. I’m 25 and have been involved in sports my whole life. I played basketball for 10 years and also took karate. I’m now playing a sport called floorball.
I studied international finance management in Slovakia and Germany. I just graduated in February of this year. I chose to study this area because I wanted to know about finance and management and this major was a great opportunity to study both.
My Gi2C arranged China internship is working for a company that focuses on finance, tax, accounting, financial counseling and auditing. The company’s service portfolio is huge, but I should be concentrating on primarily taxes and accounting. I’m looking forward to learning other areas during my internship as well. I want to get experience in the area of finance with this China internship as well as experience working in Asia, learning about this new culture, improve my English skills and get to know the real situation of life in China. Of course, I also want to try the local food.
I chose to intern in China because it fulfilled my three expectations of work, language and culture. I went with Gi2C because I found a good online references about Gi2C. Plus, Gi2C found an internship in the field I was interested in.
To prepare for my move to China, I read about the country and talked to friends who have been to China before. My friends and family overall supported my move. My grandmother was scared for me and my friends were jealous. =)
