Learning Mandarin Chinese with Gi2C: A Student's Perspective

No matter what anyone else may tell you, learning Mandarin Chinese in a classroom in your home country is very hard. The words sound totally different. The way Chinese characters look on the page is totally different. Few people outside of the classroom in my hometown speak Chinese, so I had no way to practice my skills. I knew I needed to learn the language, but I just wasn't getting it. I am so thankful that I found Gi2C (Getin2China), because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have learned Chinese any other way.I took some time away from school and I went to China with Gi2C. I enrolled in a small class full of other students who also didn't speak Mandarin Chinese very well. We had an amazing teacher, and she spent a lot of time just coaching us and talking to us about the lessons. Things really started to click when...
