Testimonial: Yuri Koshkin (Russia)

As a leading provider of internship placements, Get in2 China takes great pride in connecting students and graduates from all over the world with valuable work and learning experiences in some of China’s most attractive industries.  Over the past five years we have placed more than 1,000 interns across a wide range of positions in Beijing and Shanghai.

We continually tell our interns that to be successful in their internship placement, they must approach their position with an open-mind and a willingness to learn. In addition, we cannot stress enough the importance of proactively developing your personal and professional network during your time in China.

This advice is featured a previous post titled, Intern Advice: 7 Tips For A Successful Internship In China.

At Get in2 China, we also understand that it is important to practice what you preach. As such, we have made it a priority to reach out to individuals who have successfully completed their internship placement in an effort to not only learn from their experience, but also to bolster our personal and professional relationships with former interns.

For our own benefit - and also for the benefit of all of you potential interns - we will begin to periodically post intern testimonials on our new blog and website.

The following testimonial is from Yuri Koshkin, an incredible man with a passion for learning new languages!

Name: Yuri Koshkin
Nationality: Russian
Age: 60

Some people think that only young people are capable of acquiring new language skills, but you are never too old to start learning a new language. Yuri's dedication and hard work as a student in our Chinese Language Program is a true testament to that. Having been in Beijing for only one month, Yuri decided to enroll in Get in2 China's Chinese Language Program with our partner - Frontiers Language School.

During the month he spent in Beijing, Yuri worked with two different instructors at Frontiers. Yuri chose Beijing as his destination for an extended stay after spending a week in the city nearly two years ago and loving it. He says it is his passion to learn new languages and couldn't wait to conquer Chinese, which some say is one of the most difficult to learn.

According to Yuri, he's "very happy to be here and learning the language." Though China is not the easiest place to live, Yuri maintains that he has not had any kinds of problems or difficulties so far during his stay. This may be partly due to the fact that he previously studied Chinese for two years in Russia.

During his time in Beijing, Yuri has spent every single weekday studying with Frontiers. On the weekends he travels around the city visiting the many historic and cultural attractions that Beijing has to offer. His favorite Beijing attractions are Tian'anmen Square, Tiantan and Yihneyuan Park, and Wangfujing shopping street.

When asked about Get in2 China, Yuri responded that he is "pleased with the service Get in2 China has provided."

Thanks Yuri, you are an inspiration and we hope you continue to do what you love - learn new languages while traveling the world.
